About Margaret
From Vancouver to the concert halls of Europe
Margaret Bruce grew up in Vancouver and studied at the Toronto Conservatory of Music before leaving Canada for London at eighteen. After the Royal College of Music she won a scholarship to study in Vienna, then completed her studies with the Czech pianist Lisa Fuchsova and the conductor Peter Gellhorn.
Composers including Herbert Howells and Sir Lennox Berkeley have written for her, and none more than Antonín Tučapský, whose concerto, piano trio and 24 Preludes she has made her own.
